The pie chart illustrates the way of transporation for people travelling to one universiy for work or study
in 2004 and 2009 in the UK

Overall, the proportion of people traveling by car can be seen to decrease significantly from the first
year to last year while other modes of transport tend to increase.

In 2004, car took up the biggest proportion with nearly a half. Bus accounted for the second biggest ratio
with one third. Meanwhile, train and walking made up the smallest proportion, at 3% and 4%
respectively. Nearly 10% of people travelling to university for work or study by bicycle.

In 2009, car didn’t take up the biggest proportion, bus made up the biggest proportion with nearly a half
instead. After five years, people travelling to university by car is decreased about a half with 2004, at
28%. The walking and train still took up the smallest ratio,however, there was a slight increase
compared to 2004 about 1-2%. People go to university for work or study by bicycle increased, at 16%
