According to scenario following employer’s obligation to workers has
been contravened:
As per article 10 of R164 and article 16 of C155of International labor
organization (ILO)
Employer must provide safe work place to workers whereas, in
scenario power lead of PC was frayed and broken plug casing was plugged into an extension lead which could be the cause short circuit and lead to fire. Put obligation on employer to provide safe work place to workers while in scenario workers have to sit on the chair to perform their duties without getting being relaxed. Employer must ensure safe work method that should not pose risk to health, whereas in the scenario work method was not friendly and sale peoples were under pressure to fulfill the target by hook or by crook. It is duty of employer to provide appropriate trainings and instructions to workers to carry out the duty or job safely whereas in scenario no training provided regarding their job activities, hazards associated with their job and their control. Workers were unaware who to report in case of any mishap/problem. Provide necessary supervision, but in the scenario no supervision provided to sale peoples during their job role. Employer must put in place health and safety arrangements adapted to suit the size and nature of the undertaking while health and safety was given no importance by the directors of the organization. Employers must take measures to eliminate mental fatigue but in the scenario no controls actions were in placed to keep the worker relax and calm. Its employer responsibility of the employer to stay up to date with knowledge in order to comply with above but risk assessment was found out of date which show directors nonseriousness attitude toward health and safety policies. Be able to contribute to the decision-making process at the level of the undertaking regarding matters of safety and health, but worker were given no importance in making health and safety polices in the scenario. Employer must review and audit the health and safety policy periodically.
