At Umojalands we are building an inclusive financial ecosystem for smallholder farmers

using farmer digital identity and farmland exchange marketplace to increase farmland access
in Africa.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

There is unprecedented transition in Zimbabwe Agriculture, 80% of arable land is

underutilized, and less food productivity part of the issue is that 413 000 smallholder farmers
have no access to formal financial service this is because:

I. There is inadequate farmer information in the financial sector

II. Distance between the 2 is discouraging lending opportunity
III. Farmers lack credit profiles and financial identity

OUR SOLUTION

As a solution, we have developed a multi-facet system that connects vacant farmland with
farm seekers (farmland-Exchange marketplace) and farmer data with financiers using farmer
digital identity.

The farmer eiD houses all farmer information to generate a credit score, create a financial
identity, and de-risk lending by harnessing the power of AI and remote sensing. Such
information enables financiers to meet eKYC, eKYB, Livestock as security, Agronomic data,
off-take security, previous sales data, and Financial data.

Farmland exchange marketplace provides adequate farm information for farm seekers to
make an informed decision and utilize the land effectively. Such info is not limited to water
availability, agronomic data, crop history, GPRs, soil analysis, equipment availability farm
holder experience, and Market availability.

Market Analysis & Competitive Advantage

The total addressable market of 560 000 smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe and less than 17%
have been served by using one digital asset the traditional lending practice & Musoni system
which has given rise to economic exclusion through a traditional lending framework.
Umojalands competitive advantage in comparison with Musoni system is that our system
helps reduce credit risk and credit fraud from on-boarding to lending decision, It goes the
extra mile to drive up transaction velocity through the quick lending decision and actionable
insights

Currently, we are focusing on registering smallholder farmers which makes our business
model more result-oriented and traction-gaining however this has a challenge in most cases
of then reducing the lifespan of our startup. That’s why the in future we visualize ourselves
rather proactively marrying our visions into a viable strategy and shared economy model,
where we will have good sound digital assets and partnerships.

As spearheaders to agri-financial inclusion inorder to see our business innovative we need to

focus more on our Key partners as adoption of our system with these will be a major Key
performance Indicator for us as well as key resources as these will also keep us going as a
startup. We distinguish key partners between two types those that are crucial and other
partners. Umojalands`s most crucial partners to innovate are certain technology partners.

The crucial tech partners help with unique tech such as fieldy.space to give crop field
monitoring reports. Key resources are the most important asset of the platform business
model is its network effects, digital assets and algorithms. It is the resource that needs to be
built and nurtured. The data, the algorithms and the capability to analyse and gain insights are
essential. The latter also grows with the size of the network. Key resources are the driver to
our innovation. To achieve the business blocks, Umojalands requires skilled engineer in
software development to increase data assets, financial resources and business development
information for strategic partnership

Umojalands`s business success is based on active user engagement, if we are to receive

$5000 investment will be able to procure 3*motorbikes for data captures to penetrate the
marginalized areas, 3* e-devices to capture data, 3*laptops for data automating used in
remote forces, internet subscription, operations & 2 years hosting. The purchased resources
will enable us to register 2500 farmers and ensure 60% have successful loan access of an
average of $700 per farmer. This will increase revenue on business and allows it to scale and
increase more resources. We expect to be gain knowledge on how to unlock funding from
venture capitalists and grow Umojaland’s business. These days social capital is a major drive
to business success and we expect great networking with other participants and organizations
for us to make strategic partnerships if possible.
