Description of artifact/assignment:

In my art class, during the first months of school, we were working on fractured value and
shading. To continue practicing this, we had to make draw a portrait of someone. I chose to draw
my brother and I am really glad about how it turned out.

Why did you choose this as one of your artifacts/assignments?

I chose this as my artifact because I have a hard time drawing faces. I always mess up with the
eyes or lips, but for this project, I really think it all turned out really good. I could make some
changes if I had to do it again, like make the shirt darker, but overall, I think I did a really good
job.

What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?
I think that the academic skill I used the most was innovation and creative thinking because I had
to work hard to get the right lines and shapes done to make the portrait realistic. I also had to see
how to shape it correctly and not make it look really weird.

What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?
