My name is Natalie Sorensen, and I graduated May 7, 2022 from the USF College of

Nursing with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and
have attended USF for my entire undergraduate career. I became interested in the medical field
when I took an anatomy and physiology course in high school and realized how fascinating the
human body is. After taking a mission trip to Costa Rica, I realized that nursing would be a great
way to combine my interest in the science of medicine with my love for helping others. I have
always been interested in finding a career path in which I could serve others because I feel the
most fulfilled in life when I am doing good for others. I am also a very outgoing and friendly
person, so I knew I would love being able to interact with patients and make them feel
comfortable amidst an often uncomfortable and stressful time in their lives. Prior to my trip to
Costa Rica, I had the opportunity to travel to Peru through my high school, and these two
experiences furthered an already deep love that I have for the Spanish language as well as the
cultures of Spanish-speaking people. These trips not only instilled in me a love for travel but also
have encouraged me to learn other languages besides Spanish. I hope to learn Portuguese in the
future. Another hobby that I have in addition to travel is art. I took many drawing and painting
classes in high school, and in my time at USF, I found a passion for photography after taking a
photography class through the Honors College. Art not fuels my creativity, but also serves as a
relaxation technique, so I think art will be a great activity to help me relax and de-stress during
my off-time as a nurse.
