C. Materials: Teacher-made visuals, chalkboard, video clips, pictures.

III. Procedures:

A. Preparation
The teacher will begin the class by greeting the students, leading the prayer,
and checking the attendance.

B. Motivation
PICTURE TALK
The teacher will be showing different types of work.
Try to look closely at each picture and describe what you have noticed about
the men and women in each print.

C. Presentation of the Lesson


Teacher and students interaction/discussion on the Biases and
Prejudices.

D. Application

A. The students need to detect bias and prejudice base on the following
image shown.

B. Listen to the situations carefully and identify whether it shows bias and
prejudice.

1. I think the winner for Miss Universe should be a woman who has white
complexion.
2. I hate to see a candidate who has curly hair, protruding lips, black
complexion and big eyes. So disgusting! She is not fit to be the titleholder.
3. Our school should accept only those who share the same religious beliefs
with us.
4. No students belonging to Religion Z group should be admitted in our
school because they are foolish, dull, and arrogant.

For Group 1: Think of Professions which shows biases and prejudices in terms of
sex. Write it on a ¼ sheet of manila paper.
For Group 2: Create a mini dialogue showing your personal experiences of
prejudice or bias.
For Group 3: A drawing about bias and prejudice.

B. WATCH THAT LABEL


I have here a video clip featuring a Filipina actress who claims that it’s not right to
put label on anyone. Watch it and find out the label attached to her.

Guide Questions:
1. What ids the “label” attached to the woman in the video?
2. Do you agree with what the woman said? Why?
3. When you put “label” on someone, are you also biased? Why?

V. Assignment

Give at least two examples of personal experienced when you witnessed


bias/prejudice and what you did. Write it on a ½ crosswise sheet of paper.
