The bad news message is that every person does not want to hear, read, or receive it.

Hearing negative
news is never easy. I remember when my manager delivered the good and bad news and asked me
which I preferred to hear first. I always prefer to hear the bad news first because I want to reduce
worrying, think of ways to move forward, or maybe I just want a happy ending. (Aside from joking, this is
the effect of a Korean drama show.) I want it to be heard personally. I want it to deliver straight to the
point and concisely, and don’t sugar coat it to comfort me. This will probably help me to understand and
easily accept the news.

But if I’m the one to delivered it, I need a lot of courage and empathy. Especially if this is retrenchment
and suspension. I will do like sort of conditioning and deliver it gracefully.
