APPENDIX B - GROUP PERSPECTIVE

When we were no more than a kid in kindergarten and elementary

school, we never paid attention to our surroundings. We were never
fascinated by the greens and the hills and the free-flowing gushing rivers.
Nature has never piqued our interest. We were never grateful for the fresh
cool air, for the subtle warm kiss of the sunlight, for the timely rainfalls, and
the beautiful flowers of May. However, when we reflect back on all of this, we
are alongside our mound of regrets. We wished we could return to those
tranquil, lovely, and glorious days when the earth's ice was still not melting,
animals were not yet dead, the sun was not yet damaging, and the
environment was not yet spiteful.

Climate change is not a piece of newfound information to the world, in

fact, it has been knocking on the humanities’ doors all this time, begging us to
stop destroying the environment and instead start protecting it before it’s too
late. We personally believe that climate change has always been with us, it
has never been invisible but we chose to not see it. Humans chose to ignore it
and be eaten by greed.

Despite the knowledge of the effects these harmful human activities

would give the environment, people still do so to gain power, money, and
property. With all the negative traits, habits, and activities of humans, the
environment is destroyed. Many fish in the sea dies with just one candy
wrapper thrown into the water. The continuous use of fossil fuels has caused
the greenhouse effect on an alarming level and yet people keep turning a
blind eye. Not keeping in mind what would become of the planet in the next
years with such a poor state. Climate change is here and there is only so
much we can do in a short period of time. May humanity be awakened and
reflect on their acts so that we could still fight for our home before it's too late.

Climate change not only poses a major threat to the earth and its
inhabitants, but it also poses a threat to the global economy. We must be
mindful of the negative effects of climate change, because the earth is the
only planet on which humans can survive. We are a part of this globe, and we
have responsibility for its fate. Unless we accept new practices, ethics, and
values to govern our lives on a warming world.

The researchers conclude that global reforestation is one of the most

effective carbon reduction solutions. However, as promising as reforestation
is, it is important to remember that it is not a silver bullet. Reforestation is an
important component of any climate change mitigation plan, but it must be
coupled with additional action such as increasing our use of renewable
energy.
