One of my first favorite time periods of art is the Early Twentieth Century.
I think cubism and
futurism is such a fascinating form of art. My favorite type of cubism is sculpture, since it is a two dimensional art that appears as three dimensional. My other favorite time period of art is the Early Twentieth Century in Europe. I especially like Dada, due to the powerful meaning behind the art. The fact that the movement was raised against art due to the war. I also find surrealism very important and powering.
1.The Portuguese by Georges Braque is a piece I find so exciting and
very interesting to look at. It is a great form of analytic cubism bringing different objects to make a new object.
2. The Unique Forms of Continuity in Space by Boccioni
is showing different movements within a sculpture. The movement also shows a clear sculpture. Which is very interesting and satisfying to the eye.
3. This wood sculpture done by Picasso shows a two dimensional
sculpture while also being three dimensional. I think cubism is a fun and challenging form of art.
4. Mona Lisa by Marcel Duchamp shows the Dada. Showing the
movement against art.
5. The Persistence of Memory by Salvador
Dalí shows the drama of the dreamlike imagery handled by Dalí’s technique.
6. This Two Children are Threatened by a
Nightingale has to be my favorite surrealism piece done by Max Ernst. I think it is a strong piece of surrealist works.
