Purpose
This manual provides the hardware information for the ZXDSL 9806H Full Service Access
Platform.
Intended Audience
This document is intended for engineers and technicians who perform operation and
maintenance activities on the ZXDSL 9806H Full Service Access Platform.

Before this operation, make sure that:

l The ZXDSL 9806H works properly.
l You have logged in to the ZXDSL 9806H through HyperTerminal or Telnet.
Context
The in-band NM is implemented through the service channel (uplink port). It is usually
used in practical engineering.
Networking Diagram

Before this operation, make sure that:

l The ZXDSL 9806H works properly.

Context
The out-of-band NM is implemented through the MGT port on the main control card. It uses
the non-service channel to transmit the management information so that the management
channel and the service channel are separated. It is usually used in local management.
Networking Diagram
Figure 1-2 shows the out-of-band NM networking diagram.
Configuration Data
Table 1-2 lists the out-of-band NM configuration data.

1.3.1 Creating an NE
Abstract
After creating an NE, you can manage the NE on the NMS, including topology, fault,
performance, and database.
Prerequisites
Before this operation, make sure that:
l The NM database is started.
l The NMS is started.
l The NMS client is started.
l The in-band or out-of-band NM IP address is configured on the ZXDSL 9806H.
l The NMS communicates with the ZXDSL 9806H properly.
Steps
1. In the NetNumen U31 R20 Unified Management System window, right-click EMS
Server, select Create Object > Create Wireline NE. The Management-Create dialog
box appears.
2. Select the NE type (ZXDSL9806H) from the left pane.
3. On the Basic tab, configure the following parameters, as shown in Figure 1-3.
l Name: ZXDSL9806H
l Description: 10.63.156.90
l IP: 10.63.156.90
l Other parameters: default values

4. Click Create.

You have created the ZXDSL 9806H NE successfully, as shown in Figure 1-4.
Follow-Up Action
Double-click the ZXDSL 9806H. The Rack window, as shown in Figure 1-5.

Before this operation, make sure that:
l The NMS communicates with the ZXDSL 9806H properly.
l You have opened the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window.

1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the main control card and select
System Management > System Information. The System Information window
appears, as shown in Figure 1-6.

1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the main control card and select
System Management > SNMP Community Configuration. The SNMP Community
Configuration window appears.
2. Click Create. The Create SNMP Community dialog box appears.
3. Configure SNMP Community, Access Level. Select Set as NMS Read Community
and Set as NMS Write Community, as shown in Figure 1-7.
Note:
It is recommended to select Set as NMS Read Community. Otherwise, the NMS
cannot access the NE.
4. Click OK.

1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the main control card and select
System Management > Trap Server. The Trap Server window appears.
2. Click Add. The Add Trap Server dialog box appears.
3. Configure Trap Server IP. Select ZTE NMS Server and Expected Minimum Event
Level, as shown in Figure 1-8.
4. Click OK.

Context
The ZXDSL 9806H works as an SNTP client and synchronizes time with an SNTP server
through the SNTP.

1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the main control card and select
System Management > Time Management. The Time Management window
appears.

System Management > Version Management. The Version Management window

Download To NE dialog box appears.
b. Select FTP Type and Start Time.
c. On the Select Versions tab, select version files, as shown in Figure 1-12.

l On the Backup tab, select the specified configuration file and click Execute to
back up the file.
l On the Restore tab, select the specified configuration file and click Execute to
restore the file.

Context
A VLAN is a group of hosts with a common set of requirements that communicate as if
they were attached to the same broadcast domain, regardless of their physical location.
The ZXDSL 9806H supports 4k VLANs.
Steps
1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the main control card and select
VLAN Configuration. The VLAN Configuration window appears.
2. Click Create. The Create Static VLAN dialog box appears.
3. Configure Start VLAN ID and End VLAN ID, as shown in Figure 2-1.

The default VLAN name is VLAN + VLAN ID.

Context
The ZXDSL 9806H limits ADSL port rates through ADSL line profiles.
l The default ADSL line profile is DEFVAL.PRF, which cannot be deleted or modified.
l When the rate mode is the fixed rate, the maximum rate must equal to the minimum
rate.
l The configuration of SNR margin must follow the following rule:
Minimum SNR margin ≤ target SNR margin ≤ maximum SNR margin

Follow-Up Action
In the ADSL Offline Line Profile window, click Apply to apply the offline profile to multiple
NEs.
Context
l The default ADSL alarm profile is DEFVAL.PRF, which cannot be deleted or modified.
All alarm thresholds in DEFVAL.PRF are 0, which means the ZXDSL 9806H does not
monitor the ADSL lines and channels.
l An ADSL alarm profile defines alarm thresholds for ADSL lines and channels. When
the statistics reach the thresholds, the ZXDSL 9806H reports alarms to the NMS.

Table 2-6 lists the ADSL alarm profile configuration data.

The threshold range of rate change alarms is 0–65535 kbps.

2. Click the Spectrum tab, as shown in Figure 2-11.
Note:
It is recommended to select 8B + 12A + 17A so that the profile can adapt to multiple
scenarios.

Only when the transmission mode is G.993.2 annex A, you need to configure US0
PSD mask.

On the Limit Mask tab, you can modify the limit mask for Current Standard Profiles.

Context
RFI profiles provide RFI notching function, which can lower the power in certain frequency
fields. The ZXDSL 9806H supports 16 notches.

RFI profiles use four bytes for one notch, where the first 00 00 presents the starting
frequency of the first notch, the second 00 00 presents the ending frequency of the first
notch, and so on.
Steps
1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the VDSL2 card and select VDSL
Management > VDSL2 Line Profile(9). The VDSL2 Line Profile Management
window appears.
2. Select the RFI tab, as shown in Figure 2-18.

Context

1. In the ZXDSL 9806H NE Rack window, right-click the ADSL card and select ADSL
Management > PVC Configuration. The PVC Config window appears.
2. Select PVC IDs from the PVC drop-down list, and click Query. The PVC information
is as shown in Figure 3-1.

a. Click Create. The Add PVC dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 3-2.

Configuration. The Port VLAN Configuration window appears.

When you bind a user port to a VLAN, if the VLAN does not exist, the ZXDSL 9806H
creates the VLAN automatically.
When you bind a user port to a VLAN, the ZXDSL 9806H binds uplink ports to the
VLAN by default.
