Part 1: Do What You Are


Complete the Do What You Are survey in Naviance. Use your report to answer the questions
below.
1. What is your personality type?
My personality type is ESFJ.
2. What does each aspect of your personality mean about you?
The E stands for extraversion. It means that I focus my attention outward, enjoy a variety
of tasks, seek out and need other people, work at a rapid pace, and need to talk through
ideas. The S stands for sensing. It means that I focus on “what is”, like working with what
can be seen and touched, apply past experience to solving problems, and need specific
and realistic directions. The F stands for feeling. It means that I am motivated by work
that is meaningful, sensitive to how issues affect people, like helping others and being
appreciated, need decisions to be congruent with their values, and need to work in a
friendly environment. The J stands for judging. It means that I enjoy work that allows me
to make decisions, prefer a predictable work pattern and environment, working towards
completing responsibilities before relaxing, and to maintain control of projects.
3. List two strengths indicated on your report. Give an example from your life that
demonstrates that these qualities are strengths.
One strength from my report is work and productivity. An example from my life that
demonstrates that this is a strength is responsible and met obligation. Another strength
from my report is supportive. An example from my life that demonstrates that this is a
strength is complying with authority, rules, and standards.
4. What qualities should a career have in order to satisfy your particular personality?
In order for a career to satisfy my personality type, it must provide me with clear
directions, expectations and deadlines. Disciplined detail oriented and well-organized, I’d
like to know specifically what’s required of me in terms of tasks
5. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?
I can use the information about my personality type to make an informed career choice
by selecting a career that try not to be so concerned about what others think of you. I
am very good at connecting with most people and putting them at ease.

6. What are your top three intelligences?
My top three intelligences are Spatial, Intrapersonal, Naturalist.
7. What do these intelligences mean about you?
My highest intelligence is spatial. This includes the ability to identify objects accurately,
change and recreate images, and recognize how shapes and objects relate to each other.
The next highest intelligence is intrapersonal. This includes the ability to understand
oneself-emotions,fears,motivations, strengths and weaknesses. Finally, my third highest
intelligence is naturalist. This means being able to recognize, appreciate and group
different things in the environment.
8. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?
I can use the information about my intelligence to make an informed career choice by
selecting a career that notices and remembers visual details and tends to evaluate the
design, symmetry or beauty of things .

Part 3: Career Interests Profiler

My strongest career interests are Realistic, Conventional, Social.
10. What do these interests mean about you?
My first interest is realistic. This means that realistic people create a ‘’realistic’’
environment. For example, they particularly value people who are practical and
mechanical. Another interest is conventional. This means that conventional people
create an ‘’Conventional’’ environment. For example, they particularly value people who
are orderly, and good at following a set plan. Finally, another interest is social. This
means that social people create an “social” environment. For example, they particularly
value people who are helpful, friendly, and trustworthy.
11. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?
I can use the information about my career interests to make an informed career choice
by selecting a career that guides me while setting up a practical plan .
Part 4: Work Values

My top three work values are Achievement, Support, and Independence.
13. What do these work values mean about you?
My first value is achievement. This means giving employees a feeling of accomplishment.
My second value is support. This means that it offers supportive management that
stands behind employees . My third value is independence. This means allows
employees to work on their own and make decisions.
14. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?
I can use the information about my work values to make an informed career choice by
selecting a career that ways that we think and feel or act that helps us understand what
we chose and what career we do.

Part 5: Career Results Comparison


15. Review the career lists provided at the end of each survey. Identify three careers that are
similar across the lists. List the careers and explain why each career may be satisfying to
you citing evidence from your survey results.
Based on my strengths, interests, and values, three careers that would be satisfying to
me include automotive attendant, musician and creative writer. A career as an
automotive attendant will satisfy me because I am interested in cars . In addition, a
career as a musician will satisfy me because I enjoy playing music. Finally, a career as a
creative writer will satisfy me because I enjoy writing .
