Mock Interview Reflection

Directions: Review the Mock Interview Critique Form completed by your teacher. Use the
results to reflect on your experience by answering the questions below.
1. What steps did you take to prepare for the mock interview?
In order to prepare for the mock interview, I took notes about possible interview
questions. In addition, I practiced my responses to questions. Finally, I reviewed my
resume.
2. How did you feel while you were being interviewed?
While I was being interviewed, I felt nervous about answering questions.
3. Reflect on your actual responses. Did you feel your responses were adequate or could
you have done better? Explain.
I feel my responses could have been better. They could have been better because I
needed to give longer answers.
4. What questions do you feel you answered well? Explain.
The question I answered well was, “Why do I want to become an auto mechanic and
how will I help a company?” For example, I was able to clearly explain why I am
interested in the job. In addition, I was able to share how I can help the company as an
automechanic.
5. What questions do you feel you could have answered better? How would you have
answered them differently?
The question I could have answered better includes, “What experience do you have with
cars?” For example, I was very short with the response and did not share all of my
experience. I need to practice this response so I can give a full response next time.
6. What areas did your teacher mark as strengths?
My teacher marked the following areas as strengths: clear verbal responses, passion for
the position, and posture. These were strengths because I showed that I really want to
job and can act professionally.
7. What areas did your teacher mark as needing improvement? In what ways do you plan
to improve your performance in these areas?
My teacher marked the following areas as needing improvement: short responses and
including more details. These areas need improvement because I need to show my
strengths and all the ways I can help a company. I plan to improve my performance in
these areas by practicing my responses and reviewing my resume. In addition, I plan to
do another mock interview.
