Argumentative Essay

Some people argue that companies don’t have the right to monitor employee’s social
media. They say that they are interfering with people’s private life. They add that the
limited preventive effect of social media monitoring may not be worth the time and
expense required for companies to do it. However, companies need to watch what
their employees are posting on social media.

First, companies may use social media to find potential employees. The owner of a
company has the right to know who is working for him, and be sure that those people
maintain an appropriate conduct to keep the good image of the company.

Second, companies need to protect themselves. They need to be sure that

employees do not take part on inappropriate behavior that could lead to legal actions
against the company.

To conclude, although the access to employee’s social media may be helpful to the
company, it should not be used without the employee’s consent, since it is a violation
to their private lives.
