The lesson I chose will be working with the book The Crayon Box That Talked by Shane Derolf.
The literature read aloud will look at diversity between families. Students will then reflect on
their own family and the traditions they value. This activity will incorporate the uniqueness of
each family and their traditions. Students will then write a paragraph statement about their own
family and the tradition they cherish.
