Essay 2 Reflection Questions

In the first essay I learned how to identify peer reviewed articles. In essay 1 I learned how

to conduct and carry out an experiment and write an essay out of my findings. These skills were

not applicable to essay 2 since this essay was more informative than experimental. In this second

essay I learned how to research peer reviewed articles with different conclusions about a specific

topic and learned how to write an annotated bibliography with these articles. I think all aspects of

this essay would be applicable to other courses since we had to learn to write this essay with no

perspective but in an informative tone, construct an annotated bibliography and research multiple

articles. The creation of the annotated bibliography helped a lot in the aspect that going into the

essay I knew what I was going to be writing about and had my sources on hand. In future writing

tasks I think it would be a good idea for me to make a makeshift bibliography so I can know

what the sources I will be using are about and know exactly what I want to quote from them.

Once again like in my first essay my thesis was not clear. In 1301 my thesis was always clear and

strong. One of my strengths is to stay on topic and keep a constant informative tone. In the first

essay my professor stated that I could make my thesis more effective. In this second essay I hope

I have fixed that and my thesis is stronger. The most challenging aspect of this unit was the

process of the annotated bibliography. Having to read multiple articles and choosing 10 of them

for the bibliography was the most challenging part. The essay was fairly easy since the

information is the same as the annotated bibliography.
