In my most recent annotations I have called out keywords, claims, parts that confuse me and
points I agree with. I already highlight my annotations in different colors and it shows me how
attentive I am. A type of annotation that I didn't use is ‘Preview the text’.

Questions

1. What is the goal of peer review?


The goal of doing a peer review is to get a second opinion on your writing and see if anything
needs to be fixed.
2. What are 6 characteristics of peer-reviewed articles?
Being published in a scholarly journal, 10+ pages in length, an abstract, organization by heading,
citations throughout, and credentialed authors.
3. What are three categories of “information resources”?
The three categories are: Peer reviewed journals, Newspapers/magazines containing news, and
journals with articles written by academics.
4. What are four things you can do to make sure that you are finding peer-reviewed sources?
Limiting a database search to peer-reviewed journals only, check Ulrichsweb.com to make sure
that the journal is peer reviewed, examine the journal and find the official website and see if it
states that the journal is peer reviewed.
