SUN2000HAV3 Inverter Magnetic Ring

Installation Guide
1 Overview
[Application scope] SUN2000HAV3 inverters whose AC output power cables to the STSs are
shorter than 40 meters
[Purpose] Add magnetic rings to increase the loop inductance and suppress the parallel cross
current.

3.1 Initial State

3.2 Scenario 1: L ≤ 20 m
Install three magnetic rings for each phase (an original PLC magnetic ring is provided for phase B),
remove the two EMC magnetic rings, and bind the lower phase B cable using cable ties, as shown in
the following figure.

3.3 Scenario 2: 20 m < L ≤ 30 m

Add two magnetic rings for each phase (an original PLC magnetic ring is provided for phase B) and
remove the two EMC magnetic rings, as shown in the following figure.
3.4 Scenario 3: 30 m < L ≤ 40 m
Add one magnetic ring for each phase (an original PLC magnetic ring is provided for phase B), as
shown in the following figure.
4 Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the inverter works properly and whether there are fault alarms. Issue a
command from the mobile app to shut down the inverter and verify that the inverter is
in OFF state.
Step 2 Turn off the switch on the AC switch box or in the PDC on the low voltage side of the
STS.
Step 3 Turn off the three DC switches on the inverter and wait for at least 10 minutes.

Step 4 Remove the eight screws from the cover using an electric screwdriver and T30 Torx
bit, as shown in the following figure.

Step 5 Set the multimeter to the AC position and measure the AC three-phase voltage of the
inverter, as shown in the following figure. If the voltage is 0, the AC power supply is
disconnected and you can continue the operation. If the voltage is not 0, check whether
the AC power supply is disconnected.

Step 6 Cut off two cable ties with diagonal pliers, remove the M6 screws with a 10 mm
socket wrench, and put them aside.

Step 7 Based on the actual situation in scenarios 1 to 3, route the three-phase AC power
cables through the magnetic rings. Ensure that the magnetic rings do not collide with
the output board or the drive board at the bottom. Tighten the three screws on the
board, set the torque of the torque wrench to 5 N·m (for M6 screws), and tighten the
screws with the torque wrench until the torque wrench clicks.

Step 8 Bind the magnetic rings and cables to the middle partition board using cable ties to
avoid stress on the screws.
Step 9 Close the door panel, and tighten the screws using an electric screwdriver and T30
Torx bit, as shown in the following figure.

 Use five 14.8 mm door panel screws (small screws) on the top and in the middle, as shown in
the following figure.
 Use three 17.5 mm door panel screws (large screws) at the bottom, as shown in the following
figure.

Step 10 Turn on the AC and DC switches, check that the input and output voltages are normal
on the mobile app, and start the inverter.
Step 11 Verify that the inverter communicates with the northbound system properly (the
SmartLogger or NMS is online).
