2. Objectives:
SWBAT + Bloom’s verb

Students will be able to classify big, medium, small

Students will be able to recall how many times the goats trip trap on the bridge.

Students will be able to draw connections to real and not real.

Students will be able to identify position words in the story.

3. Materials/Equipment:
Characters from the story
Pop-cycle sticks
Glue stick
Scissors

4. Teaching:
A. Plan for reading the book is to teach the children position words Big, Medium, Small,
Over, Under, On, Across and to listen to the story and see what happens 3 times

- Read the story the Three Billy Goats Gruff

-Ask the students what Big, Small, Medium means to them

-Ask the students what Over, Under, On, across means.

-What does goats eat.

- Although in the story the goats are real in real life the story who was character who is not real
in real life.

- What happened three times in the story?

B. Plan for extension activity:

-Give each child a story board have each child cut out the goats, the troll the bridge and the
meadow.

-Allow the children 20 minutes to cut out their props.

-React the story with the smallest Billy goat gruff on the bridge and the troll under teaching the
children on and under. keep real telling the story using the small medium large, goat how many
times did the goats go over the bridge

5. Closure:

-Ask the children what new words they learned in the story.

-Go around to each child and ask them to show me the Big, Medium, Small Billy goat. Ask them
to show me under and over the bridge and top and bottom.

-Tomorrow we will be sorting are Animals in our block area so I can make sure you understand
Big, Medium ,Small.
