Subject: Limiting our water usage.

Bosch Rexroth associates and employees,

Here in America, most of the population very fortunate to have access to a clean water source
throughout the day. What we don’t realize is how much water we waste each day. In fact, the
average American wastes around 30 gallons of water each day. This might not seem
insignificant, but it we do not limit our water consumption, this can lead to many future issues. A
significant amount of pollution is created so that we have access to drinking water and to treat
our wastewater. Also, only a small portion of the Earth contains accessible drinking water. Doing
our part to limit the amount of water we waste can decrease our pollution and help conserve this
limited resource.
Therefore, it is critical that we as an organization, make serious efforts limit our water
consumption. To truly achieve our goal to decrease our water consumption, it will take effort
from each employee. Bosch Rexroth is currently investing in technology, such as highly efficient
faucets and other tools to help limit this problem. The biggest way that we can decrease our
consumption is by being mindful of the amount of water we consume, and by attempting to limit
the water we waste. There are several ways to do so, but one example is to turn off the sink when
scrubbing your hands. Another way we can conserve our water is by contacting your human
resources department if you notice any toilet, faucet, or other water fixture leaks. There are
several other practices that can be used to limit our water consumption, which will be highlighted
in the following memo.
To successfully tackle this issue, it will take initiative from each associate. If you have any
questions, concerns, or suggestions, contact me at wdchand@clemson.edu and we can set up a
meeting to discuss if needed.

Best regards,
William Chandler
