Dublin’s best-kept secrets

Dublin has got Ireland’s best secret spots. Our guide is specifically designed to
discover these unique magic hidden gems that your guidebook won’t tell you about.

It is not what you’d call a big secret, but did you know Dublin has an Oscar Wild statue? You
can find it in Merrion Square, only a few meters from Graft Street. The reason for this statue is
that he was an undoubtedly famous Irish poet, who wrote some astonishing pieces throughout
the 1880’s. Without a shadow of a doubt, we recommend you to go for a walk through the
park in which this statue is placed. It is a quiet place to either relax or go on a picnic.

Most people have never heard about the Dodder Rhino. This rhino is not only an extremely
well-kept secret in Dublin, but also one of its greatest mysteries. The truth is that no one
knows how, in 2002, a cement rhino sculpture ended up in the middle of the Dodder river. So,
if you are hanging around this river’s surroundings don’t forget to see this curious ‘Dublin pet’.

You would never believe there is a ‘Hungry Tree’ in Kings Inn park. It’s a commonly held
perception that trees can’t literally eat. Nevertheless, visiting this park may change your mind!
The thing is that one of the trees in this place has actually started growing over one of the
benches. Whilst this isn’t the kind of art we are used to see, it feels utterly interesting to
appreciate how nature can behave in human-world!
