Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
The White Paper took the most planning out of all of the documents as it was our longest one. For
this one I started by deciding what topic I wanted to do that related to my Reaktion book, which was
the sea. From this I decided I wanted to do my topic on pollution and how it effects the sea. After this
the next steps were to find resources for my paper.

First Draft (for peer editing)

So, for my first draft I had a major setback. I had been working on my rough draft all day when my
computer froze and deleted everything I had written so far, which was almost the whole paper
around 5 that evening. I thought I had my auto save on but that was not the case. So for my first
draft I only had half a paper written that way I was able to get some sort of feedback on what I
already had.

Second Draft (for your packet)

For this obviously I made sure I had a complete paper written versus what I had for my second. Most
of my recommendations from my peer review was adding in solutions, more images, explaining the
problem further, and explaining the jargon used in the document. I thought I had fixed all of these
problems, but that was not the case.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For my final draft I made sure to edit and changed everything per your recommendations. From
adding tables into the table of contents, to removing the infographic and replacing it, and
reorganizing some of my information so it made more sense.
