Reflection Essay

I felt like this ENGL 3140 course improve a lot of my writing this semester. From writing in certain tones,
dealing with white space, formatting styles, etc. Those techniques have helped me tremendously
throughout this semester. I have never written email, memos, instructions, or even the white paper
ever. Majority of my writing currently is just lab reports which is different from professional writing.
Using the feedback in this course helped me out a lot also because there were many times I was just
writing with no clear direction. Having classmates and the professor doing peer reviews were beneficial.
My goal for this course was to improve my writing in general since the last writing class I had was in high
school. I felt like this course and the professor helped me meet my goal of improving and learning other
writing styles. I feel like I can write any type of paper now and know the proper tone and formatting that
comes along with it. I think my white paper packet was my best assignment. I felt like I corrected
everything I needed to fix and like the overall topic. I can add color and images to it which is pleasing. I
would edit my workplace assignments because I felt like it wasn’t my best assignment out of all the
assignments we were given.
