Subject: New Truck Mast Installation
Model: ESR4500
Caution !
Before performing any work be sure to refer to and follow all recommended
safety precautions set out in the applicable Crown Service Manual. Crown
recommends that all mechanics wear appropriate protective items, such as
safety glasses, work gloves and steel toed shoes, whenever performing main-
tenance work on Crown equipment. In addition, all national applicable safety
regulations should be followed.
Crown has determined that in some isolated cases during Mast installation the Shim mounting was
not carried out properly.
The Mast will be aligned in the factory to a defined position in truck direction. For this purposes, if
necessary, shims (Illustration 1) will be inserted between the Mast and the Reach Carriage. The
amount of shims is dependant of the Mast lean.
Are the Truck and the Mast delivered separately, it is important to take care during mast installa-
tion, to install the provided Shims between the Mast and the Reach carriage as shown in Illustra-
tion 1.
