Dear fellow students and Dr. Belle,

The purpose of this letter is to share research and recommendations on creating personal portfolios with
the e-portfolio product Evernote. Gaining knowledge on basic characteristics of Evernote can inform the
useability for the e-portfolio product to fellow classmates.
Team development in online settings is the topic of research and recommendations utilizing Evernote via
examination of customization capability and potential utility from Team 2. Sharing the assessment of
Evernote’s management platform in team development of documents studies basic components of the e-
portfolio exchange capability, composition of document features, and link generating program queues.
The research tasks identify the product features Evernote offers for customized characterizations of
template formats in utilization of document display options considering format/display capability to share
web link coding for select recipients. Additional research for accessing browser features Evernote may
offer for download were discovered. The utility of Evernote’s features in application to process
functionality of design style with mindful intuition of viable operation is also taken into consideration of
recommendation in selection choice for personal e-portfolios.

Executive Summary
The purpose of the recommendation report document is to summarize the research and
recommendations Team 2 prepared for sharing the interface of the web-based document
management tool Evernote with Dr. Belle and classmates. Assessment of Evernote’s
management platform in online team development of documents studies basic components of the
e-portfolio exchange capability, composition of document features, and link generating program
queues.

Research Questions
Team 2 researched the following feasibility questions in consideration of ease of utility,
navigable access to tool feature selections with intuitive instinct, and supporting experience of
clear perception in selective aesthetic features for document platform management in online team
environments in applicable use of Evernote:

Findings
➢ Identify the top features for free product version of Evernote.
Evernote is a powerful note-taking tool which could also be used for managing your daily
tasks, making to-do lists, and more. Some of the top features for the free product version
include the ability to sync your notes to up to two devices. Thus, allowing you to work
whenever on your phone, tablet, laptop, and the web—even if you're offline. It's a great
tool for taking notes and lectures for each class which can be organized in individual
notebooks. Within each notebook, you can create section groups that contain multiple
sections with individual pages. In addition to having the ability to attach media like PDFs
and images from lectures directly into each notepad. All of which could be found quickly
and easily with search and tags. Tags gives the user the ability to find notes from a
specific academic year using the lesson title and date.
➢ Examine available templates and template customization capabilities.

To help you save time and effort, Evernote features over 50 templates. Templates make it
easy to create notes quickly without having to start from scratch. Some of these include
meeting agenda for work groups, travel calendar for trip planning, project overviews for
tracking milestones. Evernote has templates that assist in project management, business
plans, personal well-being or even a habit tracker. The templates available are designed
to fit every need and are also just one of the many ways that the app helps you save time
 and effort whether for work, school, or life. Templates are fully customizable and
reusable.

➢ Practice document display in pdf formats from previous writings.

Evernote has the ability to display PDFs, photos, and Microsoft Office files. It can also
scan in receipts and Post-it notes by taking pictures of them through the Evernote app on
a smartphone. Evernote has now come out with a scanner that allows the user to go
paperless and scan in any documents they want directly to Evernote. There is also an
option to clip webpages. Web Clipper is an extension used to save specific web pages
directly to Evernote. This option allows even websites that have been taken down or
deactivated to still appear.

➢ Access capacity of document display and documents format types.

PDFs, photos, and Microsoft Office files can all be displayed through Evernote. The
software is able to show multiple documents at once with the presentation mode. This is
done by clicking on the projection screen button at the top of the document. By doing
this, the document is expanded, allowing anyone viewing the note to see the details by
making it larger. It is also possible to divide a note into multiple screens. There are two
ways to do this, manually or automatically. Manually involves using blue lines and dots
located in the thumbnails of the notes. Automatic, currently only available for Mac users,
can be activated by using auto layout and auto-convert horizontal rules into screen
breaks. Auto layout is at the top and creates a title screen and screen breaks around tables
or images within the note. Following that step, move on to the auto-convert horizontal
rules. After inserting some horizontal rules, or line breaks, access the layout editor and
click on Convert horizontal rules.

➢ Discover utilization of personalized URL (web link) portfolio capability.

The ease to exchange newly created documents with Evernote is simple and efficient.
The recognizable share button locates the activation to create a sharable link via an
autogenerated code. The coded link can be copied and pasted into communication log
platforms with ease. Editing the documents can be shared by name invitation or by email
address. The option to edit or view the document or pdf can be selected. To customize
access to editing and viewing document versions by email receipt, a scroll log is utilized
for customization either edit or view options. The settings once selected can change for
anyone with a link to view the document. The sharable link can be disabled with the use
of a scroll log. Customized options for individual email exchange recognizing name or
email address is possible including subject, message, and a duplicate email sent to sender
for email references.
➢ Access browser features for research tasks.
 The Evernote Web Clipper is an example of a browser feature enhancing document
exchange capability. The Evernote web clipper can be customized to 5 different clip
format selections: full page, article, simplified article, bookmark, and screenshot. The
Evernote web clipper has an organization feature to clip to specific notebooks. Adding
tags and remarks are possible via the Evernote web clipper. The simple save clip button is
recognizable to quickly clip documents found in the research process.
Evernote’s online team environment interface offers a diverse range of features to utilize
document creation, sharing, and display for individuals and group settings. Team 2 suggests
selecting Evernote for presentations of e-portfolios ideally in document exchanges for select
contacts. Evernote is recommendable to practice document creation projects.

Recommendations
In reflection of referencing Dr. Belle’s and classmates’ request to share research and reporting on
creating personal portfolios with the e-portfolio product Evernote, Team 2 recommends the
following program download, account creation, and applicable operation for individual selection
with e-portfolio platform Evernote’s feature choices and document composition options.
❖ Download Evernote program and establish an account.
 Evernote is accessible through Google search. Evernote’s website prompts download
process to establish account recognition for individuals. The website’s login feature holds
a workable document project management platform for individuals.

❖ Get Evernote Web Clipper on your Browser.

The collection of references in researching documents can be sourced using the Evernote
Web Clipper. Resources can be clipped to save in various formats when the web
extension is placed on the web browser. Download is accessible on the Evernote website.

❖ Utilize Evernote for document exchange operations.

Evernote’s platform offers ease of utility, navigable access to tool feature selections with
intuitive instinct, and supports an experience of clear perception in selective aesthetic
features for document platform management in online team environments.

Conclusions
Team 2’s recommendation report’s objective explanatory statement of discovery and
experimentation to assess the utilization of Evernote as a selected platform for document sharing
