Can ‘O’YourTown

This project was so tedious. But once I got the hang of it began to work. The one thing
that I found difficult was making the “ingredients”. Every time I tried to adjust the width
or the length the letters and lines inside kept moving. I figured out how to use the
“length and “width to adjust that setting. I also learned how to put the “ingredients” on
the blue part of the picture. Initially, it looked like it went under the blue but it was cool
to see that there was a way to place it in the “front” by just scrolling down on one of the
tabs. Yes, this was a tedious and a little complicated task to do, but I am glad I learned
this. It felt good to learn something new.

Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve
problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions.

This is a great idea for a project that students in elementary can do at home. It initially
takes a lot of time if someone is not familiar with it, but it really does let the student get
creative and use to using lines, shapes, copying and pasting pictures, writing text,
adjusting lengths and widths, using colors etc.. I will be showing my child this over the
summer so she can work on these skills. I can see older students using this for more
complicated presentations for major research projects. If more students can learn this
in the elementary classes, during science projects, these tools can be used to have
their presentations stick out.
