Hello,

I was going to start by saying this was one of my favorite projects this semester, but the honest
truth is that I had a good time with all of them. This one may have taken a little more effort, but
it was on a subject that I truly care about and it gave me a purpose throughout this project.

My projected was mostly directed towards other realtors and prospective buyers in the
Albuquerque area. My goal was to find the best options for buyers right now because the
inventory is extremely low and obtaining a home has been incredibly difficult for many. While
the market has changed since a little bit since I wrote this report, I still believe in my solution.
For my multimodal project, I chose to use PowerPoint because I am familiar with the program
and have the confidence to use it.

In the end, I was extremely happy with my entire project and I had a good time working on it as
well!

Below, you will also find my separate reflections that specifically answer the questions asked in
the rubric.

Thank you,

Seth Payson
1. I had thought about what I was going to choose for a little while before finally deciding,
there are multiple problems that realtors face in the market daily, however, this has been
the biggest problem as of lately and is ultimately why I chose it.
2. My choice on creating my methodology was easy. Collecting my data on the housing
market and surveying realtors were both major steps for me, these gave me firsthand
opinions and direct numbers on the market here in Albuquerque. Collecting some online
data was the third on my list, it may have been more important if I found more significant
information on solutions to this topic, but I did not.
3. I don’t think I had a tough time choosing between more important and less important
results. I focused on my questionnaire and the statistics of the market that I collected.
While I would have liked to share more data on the market, I had to consolidate,
otherwise would have had an overwhelming amount of data.
4. I don’t think it was hard interpreting the results, the market statistics show clear trends.
My questionnaire answers were a tiny bit varied but for the most part, that was not bad
either.
5. I certainly had trouble choosing what statistics I wanted to share in my report. As I
mentioned in question 3, I wanted to include so many different statistics and I feel that I
could have sufficiently used them. If I did that however, I would have had an
overwhelming number of statistics and I think it would have been boring and skipped
through anyways. My solution was to stick to the most important statistics and only
those.
6. Following the timeline was a little tough for me. I felt like I did not have enough time to
collect my data and do my research. I believe that may have limited me a little bit, mostly
because I did not get as many opinions on the questionnaire as I would have liked too.
Once I got past that, I followed the rest of the timeline well.
7. Depending on where I go in life, recommendation reports are involved in almost all
fields. I do not have an exact career that I know I want to do, but if my career in real
estate was to continue, reports like this could be useful all the time!
8. I had a good time with this project, I was writing about a topic that I truly care about,
originally, I planned on going for 7 pages or so and it quickly turned into much more. I
also think this would look better with some color, however I wanted to stick to MLA
format as much as I could. Also, creating the multimodal on PowerPoint was a little
difficult for me, I understood what I was supposed to do, I just had trouble working
through it and there were less directions for this component than the actual paper. In the
end, I figured it out and I am not disappointed with it! My last comment is that I wish I
would have included a question about having assistance from the city in my survey,
however, since I quickly ruled it out, I left it out.
9. While I have only given this to two members of my audience, they both thought it was a
great report. One did not say much when I asked for recommendations and the other
mentioned that I could make it a little more visually appealing, again, I left it a little
bland to fit in with the MLA style format, however, maybe that is something I could
change and work on in the final portfolio.
