Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
Because my topic was fire, I wanted to discuss house fires and how to prevent them. This topic was
easy for me, and I was passionate about it because many fatalities come from house fires.

First Draft (for peer editing)

I did not turn in a first draft, which was a downfall for my assignment. I missed the opportunity for
my peers to correct any errors I may have had. This is why my second draft had errors.

Second Draft (for your packet)

Because I didn’t get any feedback on my draft, I wrote my paper as I understood the instructions. It
was easy for me to write this paper, in which I later discovered was incorrect.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

My challenges started with my understanding of the assignment. My main body texts were all over
the place and didn’t directly follow the structure it should have. In addition, my cover design was
poor, mainly because I truly do not know how to create a cover design.
