What is Mobile Learning?
M-Learning is a method of learning with the aid of mobile devices.
These devices include:

Smartphones

Tablet Computers

Wearable Computing Devices

Mobile Learning in the Classroom
With the help of mobile devices, students are able to access class hubs and educational websites as well as
explore the internet and do some note taking, anywhere and any time.

Mobile Devices can be used for:

Canvas, Weebly, Google Classroom Kahoot!, ABCYa, Quizlet, GoNoodle GoodNotes, Notion, Evernote
Pros
1. Instant on/ off: Teacher can control the use of the devices.
2. School-day battery life: If charged the night before, devices can last an entire
school day.
3. Small and manageable: Small, lightweight, and easy to transit
4. Low cost: Compared to laptops and computers, mobile devices are less expensive
5. Everywhere learning: Some apps can be used anywhere, even without internet
6. Parental Controls/ VPN: Student’s will not be able to access any form of social
media or website that is blocked by controls or VPN’s and will only have access to
apps and websites provided.

Cons
1. Internet connection: Some apps and websites may require internet to
access.
2. Social Media access: Without controls or VPN, student’s will be able to
access social media and lose focus from school work.
3. App Costs: Although most apps are free, some apps cost money.
4. Constant updating: Devices and programs need to stay up-to-date in
order to run smoothly and efficiently.
5. Battery: Some batteries may die faster than others, resulting in the
need to charge during class time.
