LESS pana February 8, 1980 SL590-77-2 Revised September 30, 1980 Revision 1 ENGINE WASHING PRECAUTIONS TACH GENERATOR PROTECTIVE COVER Special precautions should be taken during engine washing on CITATION II aircraft equipped with tach generators, P/N 22554 or 22R623, manufactured by Glove Manufacturing Incorporated. This tach generator is identified by the three holes in the top housing cover. Reports have been received that engine wash solution can enter and become trapped in the tach generator housing. This can result in corrosion or bearing lubricant wast) out and eventual tach generator failure. Operators of aircraft equipyed with Globe tach genérators should order one snap-on protective cover, P/N 540841, for eacn generator. Tnese protective covers are available through normal CITATION parts distribution channels. These covers should ove installed on top of the tach generator housing. This protection will improve bearing service life and consequently the life of the Globe tach generator.
