CESSIEA anor SEIVICE, erver Feoruary 8, 1980 SL77-4 Revised September 30, 1980 Revision 1 ENGINE WASHING PRECAUTIONS TACH GENERATOR PROTECTIVE COVER Special precautions should be taken during engine washing on CITATION aircraft equipped witn tacn generators, P/N 22554 or 228623, manufactured by Glove Manufacturing Incorporated. This tach generator is identified by the three holes in the top housing cover. Reports have veen received that engine wash solution can enter and become trapped in the tach generator housing. This can result in corrosion or bearing lubricant wash out and eventual tach generator failure. Operators of aircraft equipped with Globe tach generators should order one snap-on protective cover, P/N 34D841, for eacn generator. These protective covers are available through normal CITATION parts distribution channels. These covers should be installed on top of the tach generator housing. This protection will improve bearing service life and consequently the life of the Globe tach generator.
