Doe Valley, Kentucky
Gael Manager *
Over the past month or so, we lost two residents of our eom-
munity, Christi Damall passed away on January 10". Christi
and her husband Wayne have only lived in DV for a short
time, but they are not strangers to the area. Christi enjoyed
traveling. art, and her grandchildren, Her light was e:
guished far too early. Charleen Mitoraj passed away on Dec
10". Ifthere was an original Doe Vallian, it was Charleen,
She had lived here for over 40 years and participated in
countless community related activities from classes at the old
raft cottage to various homemaker and “Dears” events
‘Whether new or longtime, every resident makes this commu-
nity what itis and their loss isthe community's loss. Please
keep the Darnall and Mitoraj families in your thoughts as
they navigate through this difficult period
Each year the winter brings a variety of weather, from unsea-
sonably warm to bitter cold. This year has been no different
with our even being treated to both of those with the same
day at times. Along with nasty weather we have had numer-
ous traffic impacts, stuck vehicles, downed trees, etc,
I would like to highlight the efforts of our maintenance team
as they have been out working to keep the roadways in the
community passable, Nate, Mike, Jonathan, Dwayne, Rudy,
and Jacob have been and are working very hard to keep
things going, often in the middle of the nastiness. We are
fortunate to have a dedicated team like we do.
Advisory Couneil: Are you community oriented? Do you
‘want to be a part ofthe solution? Become a part of the com
munity Advisory Council. They meet monthly to discuss
concerns, plan events, and generally work to better the com-
munity.
If you are interested in being a part of the communi~
cil, please reach out to Josh Spencer at
pile is
now shutdown, The decision was made to remove it and re-
purpose the space. This will eliminate several environmental
concerns and will ultimately provide more available storage
space for those of you needing to get that trailer boat, or RV
out of Your yard/drivew
‘The County’ burn pile is located on Moreman Rd, which is
off of 933 just past the Nucor construction area, ‘The county
‘burn pile is only about a mile or so from Doe Valley so there
is minimal impact to any of us needing to dispose of our yard
debris. The same rules apply there, yard debris only, No
trash, lumber, ete

Trees: Just a reminder that there is a significant amount of
tree work going on all over the community. This has been a
Jong time coming and as such, there isa lotto do. Please be
patient with the crews that are out there as you travel around
the areas in which they are working
The directive to the team is to clear back 10" from the road
edges, This will stop your vehicles from getting beat up and
it will allow proper maintenance of the easements
Trimming is priority, but if trimming would get to the point
where the tree would be put into a position where it would
likely die, the tree will be taken down,
See you around the neighborhood, Mike
