There are a lot of lessons that the speaker Ms. Rebecca Coquia has elaborated on in the online
seminar about Hotel Trends. But what comes to my mind about the key takeaways is the word
“sustainability” and especially on environmental pillar. The speaker discusses that the hotel also
used environmentally friendly products and things is servicing the guests. To sabe the
environmental pillar they sustain using biodegradable products and using alternative power like
solar. She explains that the hotel needs to sustain this method to cope with the trends today and
help our mother nature. She gives some strategies for building sustainability on environmental
pillar, she said that the top priority is to assess the issues. Then align sustainability strategy and
business strategy and lastly involve the teams or the organization. She said these are some
strategies that we need to take down notes to sustain the hotel trends.
