Term IV – Week 6 #PastSimple

PAST SIMPLE
- We use Past Simple to talk about past tense events.
- Verbs change in Past Tense. They are classified in 2

groups: Regular and Irregular Verbs.

REGULAR VERBS:

These verbs need a D, ED or IED ending.

Example:

 Sarah danced salsa and merengue last night.


 Johnny worked in the supermarket in 2010.
 My friends studied Science last weekend.
 Lucy visited her grandma last month.
 Peter travelled to Piura with his parents.
 My cat played with his ball in the park.
 My parents cooked Italian food last night.
IRREGULAR VERBS:

These verbs can change a letter, two or more.

Example:

 Sarah ate a delicious pizza with her family.


 The teachers bought new stickers for the students.
 Lalo broke the windows accidentally.
 Ben forgot the walkie-talkie in the cave.
 Susan ran in the marathon and won the first place.
 My dog drank milk when it was a baby.
 My parents gave me a big present for my birthday.
