Characters – Relapsed junkie/alcoholic trying to bail a friend out of prison, a Munchausen

person who wants to pay for “treatment” overseas, person trying to provide for their family
overseas, businesswoman who is behind on her rent and going to lose the business.

1) Russel Jones
- Russel’s mother is in prison for a hit and run incident and Russel needs the money to
get her out, but he’s been sacked from his job as a car wash attendant. He’s sold his
car to get himself started towards this goal, but he is blacklisted from most loans
because of his prior criminal record. His father has not been on the scene for a long
time and Russel has no siblings, meaning it falls to him to bear the burden of his
mother’s crime. Russel also refuses to turn to crime himself to alleviate his financial
issues as he turned over a new leaf in his life and wants to focus on legitimate
incomes.
- Russel comes from a lower working-class suburb of South London and is a resident of
a large tower block.
- Grubby clothes. Practical rather than fashionable. Probably doesn’t wash as often as
he should.
2) Victoria
- Businesswoman behind on her rent who is going to lose her business.
- She is into crypto and stocks and has made some bad investments.
- 30s
- Acts like she has everything together but is falling apart behind the scenes.
- Wears business attire (blazer, formal trousers, nice jewellery) however it is all a
façade.
- Shes tried to get more loans but has reached the lending capacity and the lender
does not think she can afford repayments based on her income and other debts.

3) Phoebe Camfil

Previous Occupation: Medicine Producer for a large pharmaceutical company

Age: Based on who’s cast, maybe 20-30.

Personality: Recluse, anti-social, paranoid, timid, selfish, smart, private, physically weak,
depressed. She often believes she’s correct and slightly superior to most.

Background: From a mid-class family in London. Raised to be hard working at school and to
be quite selfish and determined to have her own way. After med school at St George’s
University began work at a production line for a large pharmaceutical company. After
working she began to feel extremely ill (breathing issues, coughing, low energy) and it
became progressively worse. She believes that the fumes and chemicals affected her lungs
but numerous court cases against the company and doctor reviews said she was wrong. She
stays at home alone very ill and cannot work because of it. In reality the illness is only
mental and she is physically healthy. She wants to win the games to get the money to pay
for a high-level treatment in Denmark. She is very isolated with no friends or family due to
being ridiculed for faking an illness. She has very little money and her illness is getting
worse. She owns a cat at home for company.

Appearance: Quite smart clothing but often physically looks tired and ill. Wears the clothing
to try hide this. Maybe glasses. Long hair. Little to no jewellery. She tries to hide her illness
as much as she can so therefore doesn’t talk too slow, doesn’t act too tired and often keeps
quiet.
