Comparing the Advantages and Disadvantages between 

Handwriting and Digital Writing

Handwriting and digital writing are different conditions. Handwriting is the conventional
method of writing that uses pen and paper during the writing activities. Awhile, digital
writing is the unconventional method of writing that uses digital tools. Both of these
conditions have their pros and contras which are related to the effectiveness of recognizing
several informations. Therefore, before choosing the method that would be used in writing, it
is a great way to compare several aspects between handwriting and digital writing, such as
the advantages and disadvantages between them.
First, comparing the advantages between handwriting and digital writing. To recall the
information, it is better to use handwriting. These things were caused by the lack of absorbing
information during taking notes on digital technology. Researchers have argued that laptop
notetaking is less effective than note-taking for learning (Mueler & Oppenheimer, 2014). In
this case, students who took notes on laptops did lower on conceptual questions than students
who took notes longhand, according to the studies. As a result, in terms of memorizing
several pieces of information, it is better to utilize handwriting methods than digital writing
methods.
Second, comparing the disadvantages between handwriting and digital writing. if
considered by the efficiency aspect, digital writing is more preeminent than handwriting. 
According to (Khamir, 2022) handwriting is an extremely inefficient method that spend a lot
of time. It is due to handwriting could not provide the advanced feature while digital tools
could provide the advanced feature which facilitates the user to access and customized the
information that has been noted regularly by using search feature and edited feature. In
addition, it is easier for people who have a lot of things to carry while they would like to read
several notes because digital notes are lightweight. In this case, we just need to save our
digital notes in the storage of our private computer or smartphone. So, digital notes have the
advantage in the convenient aspect to ease the reader.
Now we recognize that handwriting and digital writing have their advantages and
disadvantages for us. If it comparing in the efficiencies aspect it prefers to used digital
writing, but to absorb the information it prefers to use handwriting. As a result, It all comes
back to our needs and our condition.
