Vintage Days Health Department Meeting Notes

Health department- back to normal rules and regulations, they do encourage hand washing

Masks are also encouraged at the event, but not required

- We can choose to make that a policy
- If so we need to create signage throughout the event so people are aware

If we have any pre-packaged products then a handwashing station is not required

For the club and food booths, they have to prepare all their food on site so they are required to
have a handwashing station

The station must be functional and the health department will be going around to perform daily
checks of the food booths

If a student food booth is not following the rules given to them beforehand they will be shut
down temporarily until they are up to the required code for performance

If food is needing to be prepped beforehand, it needs to be prepped 10 feet away from the food
tent

For clubs and organizations that are wanting to make sure that their cooking appliances can be
used on site, they can submit them ahead of time to see if they could either be used inside of
the tent or outside of the tent

It is important to separate the different gas types, an open flame can not be near oil

Fire estingueshers need to be present on site at the event, has to be every 75 feet of travel
distance one needs to be present

For any of our crafters that are present at the event their pop-up tents need to have the state fire
marshall seal on them- this means that they are constructed with fire resistant fabric

We have to create more distance in between our craft tents for safety

700 square feet for a fire break ( 12 feet)

- Side to side and front to back

Tents need to be 20 feet away from buildings to have a fire break

- in case of any alternate means it needs to be approved for 10 feet away
