LILIANA BALLARIN-CASS

Year 5 Student Teacher

Vancouver Island University

DEAR MRS.HODGE, STUDENTS &

FAMILIES

I would like to first acknowledge that I am thankful to be learning

and exploring on the traditional territories of the Esquimalt and
Songhees Nations.
My name is Liliana Ballarin-Cass and I am currently in my 5th year
of the Bachelor of Education at Vancouver Island University. I am
very excited and humbled to be a part of your classroom community!
I will be in the classroom from Nov .1-5 2021 and then again from
Nov. 29- Dec. 17 2021.
I am originally from Kamloops, B.C and have lived on the island for
9yrs between Nanaimo and Victoria. I have lived in Victoria for 7yrs
with my husband and our senior cat Jackson who is a rascal full of
attitude and love. In my free time I enjoy hiking, rock-climbing,
exploring beaches and practicing cross-stitching.
My background consists of working with children with diverse-abilities and summer camps! I used
to be an Educational Assistant with SD61 for 2.5yrs and the school community I was with inspired
me to apply for my BEd. I value supporting and taking care of others, the more we support our
community the stronger we are. I strongly believe building positive relationships with colleagues,
students and their families benefit learner success. I feel incredibly fortunate and excited to get to
know the Colquitz community. I look forward to this experience with an open and excited heart,
and having the opportunity of meeting and introduce myself to you in person.
I want to reassure you that I take COVID-19 protocols set out by the school district and the
government very seriously, and the safety of students is my top priority.

If you have any questions or would like to know a little more about me, please don’t hesitate to
contact me at liliana.ballarin-cass@gsuite.viu.ca

Take care,
Mrs. Ballarin
