INTRODUCTION

1. image processing is amongst the most rapidly growing technologies and is an essential part
of machine vision systems
2. Image processing is a method of performing specific operations on an image in order to get
an enhanced image or to extract some information that is required from it.
3. It is a type of signal processing in which input is an image and output may be image or
information defining the features associated with that image

Applications:

1. Defect detection in fabric

 Image
processing: linear array photo sensors systems provides a higher resolution and can inspect
a larger portion of an inspected product.
 Pre processing: Pre-processing part is used to obtain useful information from captured fabric
images by feature extraction techniques.
 Feature extraction: The aim of feature extraction is to obtain useful information from an
image. In the case of fabric defect detection, defected and non-defected texture are
characterized and analysed
 Detection /Classification: works like the fabric defect detector. In detection and
classification section feature vectors are used to determine and classify the patterns to
classes
 Post-processing: The faults may lead to give incorrect decisions that cause disposal of more
fabric and extra cost may occur on the manufacturing process to reduce the risk, a post-
processor is needed after the detection phase.

2. Automatic Measurement of Garment:

2) Input image

5) Length analysis image

2) Pre processing

6) Final Analysis Image

3) Morphological operation image

3. Sewing defect
detection: procedure for identifying a broken stitch
7) Measurement Image
4) Binarization image
