 Reflection

For our final seminar, students presented the capstone project that they had been working

on. My capstone project was completed at Sharp Rees-Stealy clinics, I conducted a root cause

analysis within their labs to prevent lab specimen errors. I found several failure points within the

labs and was able to provide suggestions to leadership on how they can improve their workflow

process. My capstone also gave me the opportunity to meet different people within Sharp and

learn more about their roles within the organization. I worked really hard on this capstone and

after completing my practicum, it made me want to look at pursuing a career in quality. I recently

accepted a position at Genmark Diagnostics as a quality analyst. It was very interesting to see

what other students worked on for their capstone and how their projects are impacting the

organizations they completed them at.
