Student Lesson Plan EDU 202

Objective: Students will learn about the Gifted and Talented Education Program. Students will

learn about what a “gifted” student is and how these students are selected for the G.A.T.E.

program. Students will learn about the different types of gifted students. Students will learn

about criticism the G.A.T.E. program faces.

Materials/Equipment:

Closure: What potential flaws do you see in the G.A.T.E program? What are other ways “gifted”

students can be recognized? Should there be advanced placement programs offered to students?

Evaluation: Students will be asked to have a mini debate over whether or not the G.A.T.E.

should be offered to students.
