Observation 1:

What are your first impressions of the classroom environment? Is it warm, invit-
ing, organized, etc? Describe the physical environment in detail.

I noticed at first how busy it was. There was children everywhere, and it was very
loud. The teacher was helping two students do their work while everyone else
was doing centers. It was very organized and inviting.

Observation 2:
Please describe the student make-up of the class, including gender, ethnicity,
ELL, students with physical challenges, and any other attributes that are impor-
tant to note.
In total, there was seven girls and six boys. It was a very diverse classroom.
There were no students with physical challenges. There were two students that
did not speak due to a delay.

Observation 3:
What are the posted class rules in the room?
It was mostly one worded rules around the class: listen, raise your hand, quiet,
no running.

Observation 4:
Does the teacher enforce these posted rules? Are rewards or consequences be-
ing used for compliance or noncompliance?
It didn’t seem like nothing happened if they broke the rules. They just kept rein-
forcing them. If a student was running, they would tell them not to run.
