Astronaut Short Film FMP

Client
I am going to submit my Short Film to the London Film Week Festival, which is going to take
place between the 5th and 11th December 2022. I am going to aim to have my production
entered by the regular deadline on 15th August 2022, however, if I miss this, I will enter on
3rd October 2022 for the late submission.

Client Information
This event has now been running for 5 years, with the event held at the Everyman
Broadgate in Finsbury Avenue, London. There are 3 awards that can be won for my chosen
medium of Short Film, these are: Best Short, Jury Prize and Audience Award. The winner of
Best Short Film is awarded £1,000 cash prize.

My idea
My Short Film idea follows the story of a young person, who has a disability which stops
them from fulfilling their dream of becoming an astronaut. At the beginning of the film,
there will be a cheerful vibe as the character is fascinated and excited about this dream.
They are seen to watch videos of real-life astronauts and pretends to be one. As the film
progresses, and the character ages, there is a realisation for the protagonist that they will be
unable to fulfil this dream. The character tries to find something else that they could aspire
to be, and is seen packing up any space related props. However, nothing is seen to be as
exciting for them.

Rules and Regulations

There are a few rules and regulations that I will need to follow when completing my
production for this competition.
 The total running time for the Short Film category has to be less than 45 minutes,
including the credits.
 Only films that have been registered can be considered for selection.
 The latest deadline to submit is 31st October 2022, I must meet the deadlines with no
exceptions.
I will ensure that I adhere to all of the rules and regulations that are displayed on the 2022
London Film Week Festival website.

Target Audience
The target audience that I would like to create for is quite wide, this is because my idea is
not focused toward a particular age group. However, I would say that this will be most
popular with 40-60-year olds, as they may feel the most sympathy for the character. I feel
that there is a lot of people who can relate to the feeling of not being able to accomplish a
dream.
