CLOWNS ARE SEARY, I AGREE

In essence, clowns are figures that refer to childhood. The combination of colors, shapes and
tricks has always left many little ones fascinated by what is still the soul of the circus and which
is part of the formation of several actors.

The clown also symbolizes joy and sadness, wisdom and ignorance. He is the representative of
complementary opposites.

Clowns usually roam the streets at night, in parks and dimly lit places, from where they suddenly
appear to scare off pedestrians and motorists.

Clowns are frightening because of their exaggerated appearance and evil depiction in horror
films. "Most people aren't afraid on a daily basis, but the clown face has become part of a culture
of scares.

The clown (legend, myth and reality – a reality as painful as it is glorious) has become a
reference of security, comfort and joy. The clown seems to have no personal life; he is a
permanently characterized character, and, as such, he is “useful” for the amusement of his
audience. (The opera managed to explain the ills and dramas of the clown performer, in his real
life, as we can see in the spectacular – dense and tense!

Fear of clowns usually arises in childhood, in children who are shyer. “It is caused by some
unpleasant experience, such as an abrupt approach, which frightens the child. Another reason is
when parents do not warn about the clown and he decides to hold the little one in his arms”
