Ref Calculation Certification

Taking Off Quantities

1) Concrete Quantites (calculated with IDEAStatica Software)

Concrete volume per girder = 71.690 m3

Total Concrete volume = 71.690 m3 x 8
= 573.52 m3

2) Rebar reinforcement (calculated with IDEAStatica and in-house spreadsheet)

Longitudinal Reinf. & Stirrup = 7166 kg / girder

Anchorage End Reinf. = 571 kg / girder
Total rebar weight + 5% wastage = 8123.85 kg / girder x 8
= 64.991 tonne
3) Wire Strand

Tendon A = 60m x 19 nos x 4 girder + 60m x 15 nos. x 4 girder = 8160 m

Tendon B = 60m x 19 nos x 4 girder + 60m x 15 nos. x 4 girder = 8160 m
Tendon C = 60m x 19 nos x 4 girder + 60m x 15 nos. x 4 girder = 8160 m
Tendon D = 60m x 22 nos x 8 girder = 10560 m
Tendon E = 60m x 22 nos x 8 girder = 10560 m
Tendon F = 60m x 22 nos x 8 girder = 10560 m
Total strand length = 56160 m

Total weight of wire strand 15.7mm = 56160 x 1.172 kg/m

= 65819.52 kg

Roughly, 3000 kg of strand pre coil, therefore total coil required = 22 Coils Prepared By,

4) Tendon Ducting

Tendon A (100mm duct) = 60m x 8 girder = 480 m

Tendon B (100mm duct) = 60m x 8 girder = 480 m …..................
Tendon C (100mm duct) = 60m x 8 girder = 480 m (Ahmad Nafek)
Tendon D (120mm duct) = 60m x 8 girder = 480 m
Tendon E (120mm duct) = 60m x 8 girder = 480 m
Tendon F (120mm duct) = 60m x 8 girder = 480 m

Total length for 100m duct = 1440 m

Total length for 100m duct = 1440 m
Certified by,
5) Duct Anchorage

Tendon A (100mm duct) = 2 nos. (live end) x 8 girder = 16 nos.

Tendon B (100mm duct) = 2 nos. (live end) x 8 girder = 16 nos.
Tendon C (100mm duct) = 2 nos. (live end) x 8 girder = 16 nos.
Tendon D (120mm duct) = 2 nos. (live end) x 8 girder = 16 nos.
Tendon E (120mm duct) = 2 nos. (live end) x 8 girder = 16 nos.
Tendon F (120mm duct) = 2 nos. (live end) x 8 girder = 16 nos.

Total anchorage for 100mm duct = 48 nos.

Total anchorage for 120mm duct = 48 nos. …....................

Executive Summary

This technical report is to design for 60m span crossing Certification by

over Sg. Lipis, Raub,Pahang within Central Spine Supervising
Road. Total span length of the bridge is 280m (50m- Professional
60m-60m-60m-50m), however in this calculation report Engineer
will focus on the centre span of 60m. Long span girder
(T-Shape) are simply supported at between Pier 2 &
Pier 3. 4 number of girders are used per deck with deck
width of 12m including parapet. The girder height is
2.6m and deck thickness is 200mm.

This calculation sheet covers the longitudinal beam Prepared by,

stress check design at serviceability limit state and
beam moment capacity at ultimate limit state design.
The grillage analysis and design check are carried out
in accordance to BS5400: Part 4, BD37/01 and design
brief whichever relevant.
…………………………
This analysis will identify the amount of reinforcement (Ahmad Nafek Bin
required for longitudinal beam, subsequently enabling August Fouzy)
the reinforcement for each of the component to be
detailed appropriately. This task will be undertaken
under ultimate limit state conditions.

use in global analysis of carriageway. Below is the general information of the bridge that
will be considered in modelling.

General info:

• Span configuration = 60 (simply supported c/c of pier)

• Width of bridge = 12 m per carriageway (24.4m total width of bridge width with
400mm clear spacing between deck)
• Slab thickness = 0.2 m
• Skew angle of bridge = 0o (No skew)
• Width of parapet = 0.5 m (Precast Parapet)
• Type of beam = Post-Tensioned Long Span Girder (2.6m Height)
• Diaphragm = 0.6m (width) x 2.8m (depth including deck slab)
• Beam spacing = 3m centre to centre
• Beam end support = Simply supported on bearing
• Beam length = 59.75 m

*Expansion Joint are introduced at Pier 2 & Pier 3, therefore no continuity between the
deck to the next and previous span.

defined as below:

d = effective depth to the outermost tendon = 2675 mm
x = compression depth = 1458.7 mm

Taking Off Quantities

1) Concrete Quantites

Concrete volume per girder = 71.175 m

3

Total Concrete volume = 71.175 3

m x 8
= 569.40 m3
2) Rebar reinforcement

3
Average rebar poundage per m girder = 110 kg/m
3

Rebar weight per girder = 7829.25 kg

Total rebar weight + 5% wastage = 65765.7 kg
= 65.77 tonne

3) Wire Strand

Tendon A = 60m x 19 nos x 4 girder + 60m x 15 nos. x 4 girder = 8160 m

Tendon B = 60m x 19 nos x 4 girder + 60m x 15 nos. x 4 girder = 8160 m
Tendon C = 60m x 19 nos x 4 girder + 60m x 15 nos. x 4 girder = 8160 m
