Good morning ladies and gentlemen!

Silk-screen printing is one of the most popular printing techniques and is most-used by
companies when printing designs unto products of different sizes and materials.

Earlier, I’ve tried making one and it’s very easy. So, I’m gonna share to you how to do this one.

First things first, you need to gather the materials. The materials are: computer, printer, photo
emulsion, light bulb, transparent sheets, squeegee, screen printing ink, scotch tape, water, t-shirt
and blower.

After gathering the materials, you may now start with the procedures.

STEP 1: Layout your desired design on the computer. Then, print it out using the transparent
sheet.

STEP 2: Prepare your screen and photo emulsion. Pour a line of emulsion at the edge of the
screen and using the squeegee, distribute a thin, layer of liquid to completely cover the
screen. Repeat it on the other side so both sides of the screen are evenly covered.
To speed up drying, you can use electric fan.

STEP 3: Once your screen is dry, it’s time to transfer the image. Lay the transparent paper on
the back of the screen. The image must be facing backwards. Use scotch tape to hold the
image in place.
Place a bright lamp over your screen and let set for 30-45 minutes. You’ll know if your
image has transferred because it will appear lighter than the exposed, hardened area of the
screen.

STEP 4: Once the transfer is done, clean your screen using running water. Wash away the
emulsion from the image are using a soft toothbrush or sponge.

STEP 5: Lay your t-shirt flat on a hard surface. To avoid the chance of the ink to sink
through the back, you may put a thin piece of cardboard.
Now, carefully place the screen on the shirt with the image facing the right way. Spread a
thick line of screen printing ink at the top of your design. Hold the screen firmly in place and
using the squeegee, drag the ink down in an even layer across your print.

STEP 6: Heat set the ink to your shirt using a dryer. Take extra careful with the heat.

And that’s it! Your shirt is done and ready to wear or sell.
