Greetings in the name of Campus Press Freedom!

For years now, the Philippines has been a battlefield of information: those that seek to
distort history and plunge the country into disinformation on one hand, and those that
strive to keep the light and truth burning on the other. In the past, the battle has been
fought on silently, but the looming 2022 elections and the boom of Social Networking
brought the fight into the front – holding approximately 75% of the Philippine population
in the line of fire. It is thus important that students, the youth of today, be informed and
armed against disinformation and propaganda.

In line with this, we would like to respectfully invite ten (10) students from your campus
as participants in our second virtual Institutional Campus Journalism and Creative
Writing Seminar with the theme “Campus Journalism and the Weaponization of
Information: the Filipino Youth, the Nation, and the explosion of Propaganda and
Disinformation” on April 20 – 22, 2022 via zoom and FB live platforms.
