My Question Reflection

Name: Alexander Dilone

“How is climate change affecting the species of Black Sea Bass in Narragansett Bay?” is
my research question. I chose this question because I feel that it goes to show that a common sea
animal such as Black Sea Bass can be impacted harshly due to climate change. This is an
important topic to me because I believe that not alot of people are aware that what we are doing
to our environment is affecting other aspects of life big and small. This is due to the fact that
carbon emissions are growing higher thus raising sea level and temperature change. I knew this
question would be impactful and would give a good example on how we are hurting our
ecosystem.

My process for deciding this research question was going on field work and visiting
different salt marshes to see how they are being treated, their quality, and the different species of
animals they house. I picked my organism by reading an article based on different animal species
that are being affected by climate change. Going to these salt marshes and researching really
made me want to look more into depth on what we are affecting in our waters. What I hope to
gain from this experience and research is to be able to use these facts in order to spread
awareness to others about what is happening right in our “backyard.” In all, everyone should take
better care of our environment and planet because we are affecting it negatively on a daily basis.
