Regulation EN55011:1998+A1:1999+A2:2002 Industrial. Scientific and medical (ISM) radio frequency equipment.

Limits and methods of measurement The amendment A2 came into force the August 1 st, 2002. By July 1 st, 2005 the regulation EN 55011:1998 only is legally valid, when the requirements of amendment A2:2002 are complied with. The list beneath will show you the most important reforms and change of regulation EN55011:98. These are contained in the amendment A2:02 The limits (peak / average) of table 2a refer to the spectrum of conductive interference voltage, measured on the 3x400Vac mains lines of equipments class A group 2. (150kHz < f < 30MHz). These limits and the method of measurement have no change with regard to the regulation EN55011:98 The limit of table 5b refer to EDM and arc welding machines. This limit and the method of measurement have changed and are published in the amendment A2:2002
EN55011:98 +A1:99+A2:02 New aspects of amendment A2:2002 compared with regulation EN 55011:1998 The manufacturer of ISM-equipments has to advise the user about the specific characteristics of equipment class A group 2, by installing of a label or by a reference to the operating manual. see 4.1 and 4.2 4.1 Separation in groups ISM-equipment of the group 2 produce intentional HFenergy for metal handling purposes. Equipments of class A must respect the limit A. These equipments may neither be installed nor applied in domestic areas. The operating manual refers to the potential emission of RFI by equipments class A group 2. Continuous RFI emission in the range of frequencies 150kHz<f<1000MHz Limit of the EM emission in the range of frequencies 30MHz<f<1000MHz Background noise Equipments class A group 2 have to respect the limits indicated on table 2a. The limit of EDM and arc welding machines is indicated on table 5b. The distance D between the DUT and the antenna may be 10m < D < 30m. The background noise should have 6db lower values than the limit.s, otherwise the distance between the DUT and the antenna may be reduced.
