My Culture Essay

Culture is like a rainbow of spices. You have different flavors, texture, and colors. I
have a mixture of those spices. I am Salvadoran, Guatemalan, and Mexican. I have 3
unique cultures. All my 3 cultures have different food, flags, and accents. Some might
even have the same culture though. Since all 3 of my nationalities are neighbors I will
be talking about how I got these 3 different beautiful roots running in my veins.

On my father's side they are Mexican home of the Aztecs. My dad is a full blooded
Mexican but also American since he was born here in L.A, which makes him a chicano.
Both of my grandparents were born in Mexico though. My grandma grew up in Jalisco,
Guadalajara. Jalisco is known for its beauty, Mariachi, and their delicious strong
Tequila. My grandpa is from the city of tomatoes Sinaloa, Culiacan. Sinaloa is known for
its seafood, banda, and it's beautiful women. It’s also known for being a Narco State.
Even though there is crime, Sinaloa is still beautiful.

From my mother's side they are Central American. My mom is mixed with Guatemalan
and Salvadoran, but she is also an American. She was born here in L.A, just like my
dad. My mother is mixed because of my grandparents. My grandma is from the country
of Guatemala, the home and capital of Mayans. Guatemala is actually a beautiful
country that people don’t know about. Guatemala is known for its beautiful Jungle, food,
volcanos, and culture. It is also known for the Mayan temples and black sand beaches.

My grandpa is Salvadora, Los Guanacos. That is another name to call us Salvis. My

grandpa was born in Santa Ana. It's an upper state in El Salvador. When people hear El
Salvador they think about the gangs and crime in that country. El Salvador is just not all
about that, It's actually a beautiful country. El Salvador is known for their food, which is
a pupusas, but there is a lot of delicious food that Salvador has. El Salvador is really
known for beautiful black sand beaches also, music , culture, history, and Nature that
surround Salvador.

In conclusion, my family, culture, and roots are important to me. They are important to
me because it’s who I am. I love all 3 of my ethnicity. There aren't a lot of people that
are mixed like me. All my 3 ethnicities have beautiful culture and land. I love how they
are all different, I love the different accents, I like how we look different. I just love it.
Lastly, I love what I have that's running in my blood. I have my light brown skin like a
Mexican, my curly hair like a Salvadoran and my attitude like a Guatemalan. This is my
roots, this is my culture, this who I am.
