Abstract

Plastic waste has been a problem since the 1970s, and we're here to help. We tried to reduce the plastic
waste by replacing one of the sources, which is a plastic cup, the plastic cup, has a lot of uses and, one of
them is that they can be used for storing most liquids and can be convenient for mass gathering or
gathering with family members, it can also reduce transmission of diseases that can cause an outbreak
of rhinovirus and many more, so we replace it with seaweed cup, the seaweed cup can be used as a
plastic cup but, seaweed cup is edible it can be eaten right after you use it and reduce the waste, it can
also use for fertilizer and fish food since seaweeds is full of minerals that can help marine, human life
and, plants, seaweed cup is easy to create because, seaweed production was about 1.5 million metric
tons and the ingredients are can be seen in local markets or even in sarisari store.

Value and Contribution

Future Development

For the future product, we're going to change water bottles, the ingredient was under development at
this point.

Marketability

A mini size cup (12oz) can cost up to 10-15 pesos and the big size cup (22oz) can cost up to 25-30 pesos
each. This is very affordable considering the use

Motivation and Purposes

The goal of this is to lessen the usage of plastic cups and to prevent areas to be polluted. It is proven
that these cup can be eaten after or while drinking in it. This edible materials are popular nowadays;
however seaweeds are quite hard to find in local market and can only be seen on other grocery store
but a price are a bit higher. This cups are perfect to drink with since the taste go well with the drink.

Creative Invention
A ¼ cup of all purpose flour, 1 whole egg, whole milk, ½ cup of seaweed powder, ½ cup of granulated
sugar where mix together on a bowl. Once the mixture is in dough consistency put flour on hands to
prevent sticking. Spread the butter evenlt inside the cup to prevent the dough from getting stuck, once
molded place it in the microwave for 5 mins
